Musicians & Music Teachers

For a relatively small village, Somercotes had several musicians and music teachers who traded in the area over the years. The list below only includes those that were listed in the trade directories. There would be many more who played in the various brass bands that existed in the 19th and 20th centuries, and, of course, all the pianists and organists who accompanied the religious services at all of the chapels and churches. Many would, unfortunately, not appear in any record.
