Unveiling of the Somercotes War Memorial, 1927

The War Memorial at Somercotes is located at the west end of the Church of St. Thomas, facing Nottingham Road.  It was erected in 1927 and unveiled the same year by Lieutenant Colonel Frank Evelyn Seely (1864-1928), in the presence of a large crowd.

It currently lists the names of 81 servicemen from the First World War, 20 names of servicemen from the Second World War and one name from 1989.
