On the junction of High Street & Limes Avenue was the home of Dr. John Joseph Bingham who practiced in the area for over forty years. A fountain dedicated to his memory was erected by public subscription and located on the corner of his former garden at the end of Limes Avenue. When the site was developed in 1937 for Burton's Tailor's it was moved to the Welfare Grounds. It is now back on the High Street almost opposite its original site.
