ke a number of pubs in Somercotes there numbers have declined and the New Inn became one of those. The building was left empty and used by local young people making false entry and eventually a fire damaged the interior and roof. Once the pub came into disrepair it was sold as building land and now, 2014, six small terraced houses stand on the former site of the pub.
