An early view of Leabrooks, F. Balls Shop with the railings to the chapel seen at the side of the building. Most people seem to be posing for the cameraman. The photograph dates from the very early 1900s.

TThis photograph was taken about 1900 of the Webster family. Henry (1851-1929) and Mary Jane Webster (1854-1913) had 12 children born and 11 survived. Henry was a Lead Miner in Elton until the family moved to Swanwick about 1899 / 1900 where he and his sons worked in the local mines or foundries. In 1901 The Webster family lived at 16, Derby Road, Swanwick. When the children grew up the majority of them lived in Somercotes and the surrounding villages.
