William Bush bought the redundant New Birchwood Colliery site and Muckram Village in 1942 from the Sheepbridge Coal and Iron Company. He would use the site for many years as a recycling yard a few of the original colliery build were use in the early days. Pictured is one of the old colliery buildings.
