Nottingham Road, Somercotes
The Cotes Park Inn was built in the 1960’s and thrived on the close proximity of the new industrial estates that started to develop and are now a huge part of the local area and employment.
A small article about this inn was published in “The Stage”, London on 11 November 1976. It read: “Down the road at Somercotes JACK and ELAINE PARDOW are making the new look COTES PARK INN a must for the carriage trade. This friendly house situated just off the M1 is due for an extension in the new year thanks to the “live” entertainment fare that’s been served up over the past months, particularly with the regular appearances of Derbyshire “Pin up Boy” PAUL LAMONT”.
The extension referred to in “The Stage” magazine was completed in March 1977.
This inn is still currently trading, and is owned by Marston’s Brewery.
